Regenerative Agriculture & Communities

Thu, 17 Nov 2022
7:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Rebecca and Stuart are members of the Waveney, Water & Woodlands Farmer Cluster, involving 19 farmers who are committed to improving water quality and habitat connectivity throughout the Waveney catchment. Rebecca  will be sharing her insights into Regenaerative Agriculture and Communities.

The Mayhew family have farmed in Woodton since the mid 1940's, and started out with a small suckler cow herd, chickens and pigs, as well as farming over 500 acres of arable land.  Whilst on a family holiday in 2016, they spent time on a friend's dairy unit in Scotland and fell in love with the idea of having their own herd of Jersey cattle.

Come and find out about how they care for their land and their Jersey herd, in a way that diverges greatly from methods of mega dairies. Raw milk, a micro dairy, milk sharing, calves staying with their mothers - it's a whole new approach.
